A simple, supportive path to getting started
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone.
Here are three simple steps to help you get connected, feel supported, and ready for your first session—so you can take the next step at a pace that feels right for you.
1
Free Consultation
I recommend starting with a brief consultation to connect, answer your questions, and make sure we’re a good fit. This session is optional, but it’s a helpful way to explore whether working together feels right for you in a relaxed, no-pressure setting.
2
Book Your Session
Once you’re ready, choose a format that works best: in-person at Canopy & Co., Crowfoot Crossing, or virtual via secure video. After booking, the required forms—Tech Consent, Full Intake, and Consent for Supervision—will be emailed to you. Completing them at least one day before your session helps us focus on you during our time together.
3
Attend Your First Session
Your first session is 50 minutes and focuses on understanding your goals, current challenges, and what matters most to you. We’ll work together to begin creating a plan that feels manageable, collaborative, and tailored to your needs.
Take the first step when it feels right for you.
Have Questions?
Starting therapy can feel unfamiliar, and it’s normal to wonder what to expect. These FAQs cover the questions we hear most often, but everyone’s situation is different. If you don’t see what you need here, we can discuss it during your free consultation or answer any questions via email. Our goal is to make your first steps as smooth and comfortable as possible.

I offer a range of solutions designed to meet your needs—whether you're just getting started or scaling something bigger. Everything is tailored to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
-
Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a call—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.
-
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and explore what’s most important to you. We’ll talk about your goals, current challenges, and any questions you have about therapy. This session helps us begin to identify areas to focus on and lays the groundwork for a plan that feels manageable, collaborative, and tailored to your needs.
-
After your first session, you’ll have a clearer sense of how we might work together. Some clients leave with initial strategies or ideas to try, while others simply reflect on what was discussed. Both are normal. The first session helps set the direction for future sessions, and we’ll adjust our approach as we go so it fits your needs and pace.
-
I use a blend of CBT, mindfulness, and humanistic principles, tailored to each individual. This means we focus on practical strategies for challenges like ADHD, burnout, or midlife changes, while also honoring your experiences and emotions. Together, we’ll develop tools and approaches that fit your life and your unique brain wiring.
-
Bring whatever feels relevant—notes, questions, or experiences you’d like to explore. You don’t need to prepare extensively; therapy is a space for you to share at your own pace. Anything you choose to bring can help guide the conversation, but nothing is required.
-
It’s completely normal to feel uncertain. I recommend starting with a free consultation to see if we’re a good fit. There’s no rush, and you’re welcome to ask any questions about the process, approach, or what therapy might look like for you. Taking this step can help you feel more confident before committing to a full session.
-
Yes! Life happens. You can reschedule or cancel your session through your Jane account. I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice so I can adjust the schedule and offer your spot to someone else. Sessions canceled with less notice may incur a cancellation fee, which helps keep the practice running smoothly and ensures that support is available for everyone who needs it.
-
The number of sessions varies depending on your unique goals and challenges. Many clients find that 6 to 8 sessions is common for initial work, but some may need more or fewer depending on their situation. We’ll discuss what makes sense for you during your first session and adjust the plan as we go to fit your needs and pace.
-
Individual sessions are $235 for 50 minutes. Payment can be made with all major credit cards. I offer direct billing for Alberta Blue Cross, Canada Life, Green Shield Canada, and Sun Life. For other insurance plans, payment is required at the time of service, and you will receive a receipt to submit for reimbursement. We’ll review all options before your first session so you feel comfortable and informed.
